My understanding of the process is that as he has been disciplined, the facts have been proved. I await your opinion.
Usually when a serious allegation comes in, management make a decision to suspend while it is investigated. If that is the case here, then no the facts have not necessarily been taken into account. Or they have, and that was their rational for the action so far.

Supt Ellis added that the PC had been formally sanctioned and was subject to "an action plan concerning risk management and decision-making".

"His licence has been suspended, including removing his pursuit capabilities", he said.

That sounds like the end rather than the beginning of the process.

However if our employer caught us speeding then the sanctions would not involve the criminal process.
Our employer isn't responsible for enforcing the law equally & impartially.

140 MPH ? Clearly, he wasn't trying hard enough wink

Seriously though, it appears the officer has been a little silly.

So why no court action for alleged 140mph with presumable corroborating evidence and a handcuffed man in the back seat??

I take your point, but I am still happy to let the Police deal with such issues internally.

Do yourself a favour and stop asking questions that nobody on here can answer. It just makes you look like a mahoosive troll.

Nope. Temporary removal of driving authorisation is usually one of the first things that would happen in my force. But feel free to continue with your uninformed conjecture.

I beg your pardon- it was his licence that was suspended
Bit of a habit of yours being wrong. I assume it's deliberate on your behalf in a bid to point score. I've seen it in several of the threads you have been involved in.

Not sure how is works down south, but im pretty sure the Police can't suspend an officers DVLA licence.

I could be wrong though. They can certainly remove him from driving duties.

Possibly not, but I was quoting the superintendent in charge of things.

Shouldn't I believe what police officers say?

Can you not, for one day, just give it a rest? You'll need more than just one shoulder for that chip.

Not having been through the process myself I couldn't say with certainty, but I would expect a sanction to follow very quickly, yes.
