This lunchtime while sitting in traffic, I watched in disgust as the driver of a supermarket lorry dumped his lunch wrappings - McDonalds bag followed by his drink container - out of the window of his cab onto the grass verge.

It really annoyed me, and I think the guy should get a talking to but I wouldn't want him to lose his job over it.

Would you report it?

In a works vehicle he is representing the company. I should guess they would not be impressed by his actions.
Plus dropping litter is a scumbag thing to do.

I agree. I hate people who drop litter, the fact that hes done it from 10 foot up in the air in a fully liveried lorry is even more annoying banghead

He won't get sacked over it, how could they prove it?

The amount of "feedback" I get with regards to our drivers can become tedious, especially on a busy day.

next door by three is a little old lady who has just turned 100

she has about 6 visits a day by private care nurses, i assume to warm her breakfast dinner lunch, chat and wash her etc etc etc

apart from their appalling driving and just dumping their cars across anything they feel like there are a couple who stop outside for lunch

when they have finished they just sling their litter on the grass. I actually caught one doing it and asked her not too, she claimed she was going to take it in with her when she'd finished, dirty cow. I told her I will be reporting her to her employer, i never did, but since then its pretty much stopped

Definitely, the alternative would be to try and have a word with the driver and receive a face full of abuse in return.

Yes reporting it to the employer is better than speaking to the driver. It's the Safeway.

Whether you're in the "report" camp or not, it never ceases to amaze me how many people carry out antisocial acts (litter, gestures, road rants/rage, etc etc) when they are driving liveried vehicles which can easily be identified.

It really does depend as they will just deny any accusation until they are blue in the face. Nowadays I only ever say anything if the person moaning sounds genuine. I recently had the phones diverted to me whilst I was following one of the drivers and someone rang up to complain they had been cut up when in actual fact it was they who didn't understand the concept of merge in turn, so I tend to take accusations with a fistful of salt.

Yes, I would report it.

I doubt if they would get the sack cos of been able to prove it (if it went that far for the sack the allegations would have to be proved) but I'm sure they would get a talking to by the boss, which may be enough to stop him doing it again.

Maybe a post on the relevant stores Facebook page with the vans reg number/time/date as well?
