Update, I just received notice that i will be prosecuted after dismissing the mitigating circumstances I presented by letter. I feel quite pi**ed off at this and would like to know if any of you lot can advise me if I can ask for the photograph before I decide whether or not to take this further. Options are take the fine, go on speed awareness course or go to court.
Now you know why a lot of people on here won't creep through a red light for the emergency services.

Even if the police vehicle is visible in the photo, that in itself doesn't prove anything. You would need to prove it was on an emergency which would entail trying to get those details from the relevant police force, something I would imagine they probably can't be arsed to do. Even then I think you're wasting your time trying to defend this.

As someone posted above; getting out of the way of the emergency services does not mean break the law.
Have a read of my post earlier in this thread. It'll give you a different perspective on what's a waste of time fighting. I fought out of principle, and I won. There's no reason why the OP couldn't.

I have already accepted the speeding awareness course as I am unfortunately not in the position to carry out a court attendance for two reasons, first being the cost implications due to my current assignment in China and secondly I would have trouble keeping my visa should I have any criminal record (Even a motoring offence ). I do however intend to at least try and have this issue elevated in the hope that the general public understand the consequence of breaking the law to support emergency services. You were right to go to court and I am glad you won, this gives me some hope that the police will come to the right decision in my case. They have not responded to my last email so maybe they are reconsidering their decision after not reading the mitigating circumstances correctly.

Upturned?

Upheld or Overturned; I think you are mixing two acronyms up...

Indeed, but you are mistaken too, about what an acronym is. FUBAR is an acronym: a word made from or based on letters/components within other words. fked Up Beyond All Recognition, for example.

We are being pedantic, right? hehe

Bugger!! In my haste to run away and partake of dinner, I managed to mix my acronyms and antonyms up. It had nothing at all to do with the glass of wine in my hand, your honour...

Pedant punished!

On the basis that you appear to be no less illiterate than the OP I should give up now, if I were you.

I apologise for my incorrect use of the term Upturned milady, I now realise when people refer to OP they are making reference to Oscar Pistorius. Think you guys need to stop watching the trial and get a life ....

Got a result yesterday with the police Chief Officer cancelling my speeding offence after carrying out another review if the mitigating circumstances. I can now drive The SLS feeling vindicated. It just goes to show that even if you accept the penalty as many of us are often forced to do, you can still continue to try and get justice without the need for legal representation. I only wish that the original submission of the NIP with the mitigating circumstances had been read properly but then again I could have had the lanes mixed up as I did in the start of this thread lol. Thank you all for the advice and my trust in the BIB has now been restored, but I will be fitting a dash camera when I get home to The SLS.
