How long for DVLA database to update tax details?

I am still awaiting the postal delivery of my tax disc from Swansea for my motorbike. I rang the DVLA who said they have taxed it and the disc should be here soon. How long will it take for the police with all their ANPR database to be updated so I don't get a pull? I want to go riding!
