Ok, had this question pitched to me, not really sure on it, so thought I'd see what you guys make of it.

Person A: Has a bike entitlement, A, B1 - Bike and 4 wheeled vehicle up to 400kg unladen.

Person B: Has a provisional for learning to drive a car, no further entitlements.

Would Person A, be able to sit in the passenger seat of a car (no greater unladen weight of 400kg) and be an accompanying driver of Person B?

As in with L plates, Person A and B could just drive around without either passing a full car test?

(Obviously insurance taken into account for.)

Cheers

No
https://www.gov.uk/driving-before-you-have-full-li...

Edit: may be a yes, specifically mentions full licence of the same category, so what does class as 4 wheeled under 400kg? Some sort of buggy I guess.

I was initially saying no, then read that page and the line about the person having the correct category of license for the vehicle, which they technically have, but wouldn't have the correct category of license to accompany a person who was purely a provisional driver.

Regards vehicles, it appears there is at least one company (Aixam) who make specific micro cars that fall into the B1 category.
