No they haven't.

Some are yellow, some aren't, on the same section of motorway.

Anybody know why?
Who cares, paint them pink and they'll still work unless you get overspray on the lens.

Where is Captain Gatso when you need him?

He's working on new tactics...

My dad got his first ticket from this camera (he thinks) http://www.speedcamerasuk.com/database/SWS/sws079.... Got a SAC for 80 something in a 70. No limit showing on the gantries.

ETA - Confirmed with dad it was 81 in a 70 - probably that camera.

95mph at Epping now....

was fined £440, given five penalty points, and ordered to pay £90 compensation and a victim surcharge of £44 for driving along the M25 at Epping at a speed of 95mph, in excess of the 70mph speed limit.

First one below the ton.

How do you know this?

Last but one in the speeding section here.

http://www.essexlive.news/who-has-been-in-court-fr...

It's the first one below 100 I've seen reported here, there are often reports over 100 at Epping.

How do you know it was a HADECS3 used to measure the speed?

Blimey, I'll be careful driving round there, they're a bit harsh!

As previously, the camera could be generating lots of SACs and FPNs at lower vehicle speeds when the NSL applies which wouldn't involve court and therefore wouldn't appear in the local rag. There will be a distribution curve somewhere.

Wouldn't disagree with that. It just told me that you couldn't drive through these cameras when there was no speed limit displayed with impunity.

All the people commenting on the article saying, "Obey the speed limit, 70mph is fast enough," will be the ones collecting most of the fines because they don't understand what's going on with the smart motorways and variable speed limits and they don't think they need to watch out for the cameras. They can't even read the article and the other comments properly to gain a greater understanding, never mind the up to date Highway Code.

Where does it say in that article those speeding cases were from HADECS3 sites or even from fixed cameras of any type?

It doesn't, it's an assumption. However many of the cases reported all look to be based on fixed camera locations (based on local knowledge). I was going to have a look at Pepipoo and see if I could get some correlation.

For anyone who doesn't believe that the M25 HADECS system enforces a NSL, I'm now looking at the paperwork for M25 Epping Post 5563A. Speed limit: 70 mph. Court hearing pending.
I've now had a look at Pepipoo. Quite a few people clocked by this camera around the ton. I don't know for sure if it's HADECs but I'll try and work out where it is.

The one anticlockwise between J3 and J2 seems to be busy in the evenings... Slow traffic in lane 1 queueing for Dartford seems to make a 40 limit and then everyone in the (clear) other lanes gets flashed. Watched it flash almost 10 times in a few minutes queueing the other day.

Cashing in on the unmitigated f@ck-up they've made of the toll booth removal at the tunnel side.
