There's also some that are mounted in front of the pillar rather than out to the left, which makes them more difficult to spot from a distance.

Should still be able to see the three cameras on the pole prior to the camera gantry.

but I've been reliably informed they work for nsl when not illuminated
You haven't been reliably informed. They don't work at NSL they work at a higher speed than NSL.

So "managed motorways" actually means permanently-enforced 93mph limit, regardless of conditions or time of day...
Fixed that for you.

Overnight the Hadecs 3 cameras between LHR and M40/J16 are now yellow, and they pruned the trees that were starting to block the installation. The camera clockwise between J15-16 was just a shell, but the last few weeks it had the camera/radar unit installed in the case.

A few months ago when I last drove my car around that section I had my radar detector on, and the recently installed Hadec anti-clockwise after the M4 juction was sending out a week signal (I haven't tested the RD on an active Hadec 3 setup to compare yet), but I still haven't seen it flash yet (or any others around the western section), so it didn't look like it was fully operational.

What camera unit are you running out of interest?

The radar used is much lower power than a gantry camera, so you get very little warning of a live HADECS3, even with a sensitive detector.

The HADECS3 on the south section of the M25 near Oxted has never set my radar detector off all the time it's been installed. No idea why.

Why do you need to know where the cameras are or whether they're working?

Our right sides are our most photogenic and we need to know where to do a handbrake turn and reverse at high speed under the gantry, ensuring the camera picks up our Pistonheads stickers.

Why do you delight in coming on a motoring forum seeking to wind people up?

If you want to pretend normal, right minded people are against car use you're not doing a very good job.

Driving slowly on M25 from A3 towards M3 I saw my first set of these at the w/end. Damn hard to spot especially so if motoring on!

Anyway, is there an up to date site with a map of all currently functioning cameras on it? The only one I found still showed the 50mph specs(?) cameras on the now managed motorway section of the M25, between J6 & the M26, presumably used during the roadworks a couple of years back....

Clearly a megadickish thing for someone to say sincerely. But it's fairly clear from CarsAreBad2752's history, I would have thought, that they are probably attempting to parody some of our more "anti-speeding" posters, and suggest that maybe such posters are not always entirely comfortable with the thought of ordinary "plebs" being allowed to get behind the wheel at all. Which would certainly seem to be the case in some instances, if not others.

Wearing a bit thin now, maybe, but they're probably going to find it funny as long as people keep rising to it. On a previous thread, someone said (in capital letters, no less) that the mods should remove them for thinking "cars are bad"; do they also think the mods should remove those who, you know, actually think that? Or just the poster who's almost certainly just taking the piss out of those people?
