OP - presumably you have or will save the original ebay advert as that is the description you bought it off. The fact that you bought it off ebay would pee off ebay but it doesn't mean it is any the less a contract. The car has been significantly misdescribed.

Have you approached the seller regarding a return or partial refund - her won't want to pay for it to be returned so I guess £100 in your pocket is probably worth it to him to remove the hassle factor. If you wanted to do a money online claim you could probably do it successfully but frankly for the short time you plan to keep it, it surely isn't worth the time and effort.

If you aren't keen on doing the work bung it back on ebay properly described.

Slightly worried it may be a time and money pit.
It's a £700 Saab laugh
+1

Would have been a rofl if French or Italian though...

I think me and this thread got a little side tracked onto servicing. I expected putting some money and time into a £700 car, but there was another Saab convertible I looked at and the deciding factors were I though this was the HOT variant and the other one wasn't as original.

For what I want the car for HOT or not doesn't make much difference, but it would have been preferable to get what I though I was getting. I've emailed seller, but no reply. It was a classified advert on eBay so I don't think eBay protection covers it.

For a cheap fix, to make you feel better about the car, just put this on the stereo hehe

Is the op sure it's 185bhp as when my mum bought her 93 the hot was 205 with a little turbo needle on the instrument panel. She went for a lot in the end that was 150 with the option to chip to 185bhp.
