Even more interesting. Two sides of the same story.

The more I read the more depressingly apparent it becomes that there is something seriously amiss within the top echelons of the police in this country.
They are failing those they are supposed to be leading. When those at the top are not fit for purpose a degenerative malaise trickles down.

That UPSD piece on Operation Newgreen mentions that force's concern over 'reputational harm'. That's also mentioned at the bottom of page 4 of this with regard to dodgy photos being on his work iPhone:

9 minutes 10 seconds in they say Mogg MP says procedures may have been misused as the matters he's been found guilty of were only discovered after more serious complaints had fallen by the wayside.

He could have been stitched up.

Didn't he say when he took over Avon & Somerset that he would publish details and data from police Misconduct cases so he's on difficult ground if he promoted better standards of discipline and transparency if he can't uphold the same conduct himself.

Is his position tenable?

He left enough ammunition laying around for those that don't like him or his management style or his plans for Avon & Somerset to incapacitate him.

Was IPCC Commissioner Jan Williams impartial?

Like the Andrew MITCHELL plebgate stunt they're all as bad as each other?

Whoever shouts the loudest or gets the most or best media coverage wins?

'Trial by media'? When it seems the police and IPCC play that game why shouldn't everyone else?

As per a panel's recommendations this summer, Ms Mountstevens gave the chief eight final written warnings for the eight counts of misconduct he was found guilty of.
Eight final warnings? Is this some sort of record?

National police force please, it's time to eliminate these little local empires.

Some are saying the complaints were made to instigate a fishing expedition that uncovered the sexting on police supplied equipment intended for work use.

If those rumours that he was involved with the PCC were correct would evidence of it have been there in the stuff they found during their fishing expedition?

If those rumours are correct that he was involved with the PCC would that explain why she told Gargan the name of the female officer that made a complaint about his conduct?

Did the IPCC have the knives out for Gargan as he may have complained about them and how they were handling their investigation into the conduct of the officers over the death of Bijan Ebrahami:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-25122...

If those rumours are correct and the PCC was in a relationship with Gargan and the IPCC weren't happy with Gargan complaining about how they were dealing with officers involved with the Bijan Ebrahami case would that be two people with a grievance against Gargan that would be happy to do him over?

I did see some video footage of where he opened an internal door for the PCC and he seemed to lower his head as she went through. Due deference and respect?

What gets me is virtually no one voted for her about 20% of the electrot.

However when she ousted port from his post I thought wow a good thing has come from it.

For those who don't know he was director of southwest one and out sourced a load of services to them one weekend in a solicitors in Bristol he signs over a and s police to them when he is a director of southwest one. What makes it worse is his wife was paid £300k by Somerset county council as an indecpendant advisor to them to recommend they use her husbands (they have different surnames) company for outsourcing as well, scc have since taken sw1 to court for failing to provide any savings. The hole southwest one has never saved any of its members s penny and actually costs the money for a poor service.

Only to get this plank who seems to be as corrupt horny muppet. Who tried to abuse his position and if the rumours are true shag the PCC.

Makes up look like a bunch of carrot chewing cider drinking corrupt lot down Somerset.

He's probably looked at his pension he's eligible for upon retirement, judged that he'll be snapped up by the private sector, and thought, "fk this".

You couldn't make it up.

He has just been appointed to a post at G4S, which was not advertised and no-one else was interviewed for. Thanks to the May family no doubt.

Jobs for the boys indeed! I hope the female staff at G4S realise what they are in for!

It's a private company.

Why would they have to advertise roles or indeed interview anyone?

Good governance would indicate that some interview/discussion process should happen but sometimes you just hire based on availability of a candidate.

Look on the bright side- when the usual suspects are castigating G4S for its faults it can be pointed out that they now have an ex senior police presence and everything will be ok.

Maybe its just me then. I suppose there was an inevitability about the process.

I wonder if he will receive a similar 'keep it in your trousers' warning to that which he received when he joined A and S. Somehow I doubt it.
