It's a private ltd company. The shareholders can object if they're not happy.

G4S probably had to take a second-look at the whole misconduct affair as I doubt they'd have believed their eyes. Loads of ACPO are head-hunted whilst in post and when they retire by the private sector. You develop some serious skills and obtain vast experience as a senior officer in the police that are very valuable in the private sector.

Someone did post that they thought the A&S PCC was told that they were having Gargan in return for being the Tory backed candidate.
