But this still puts all our lives in danger.
Whilst I'm not disagreeing & I can see your point - where are all the reports of accidents, injuries & deaths to the public caused by the police during this training?
Thanks

Its all about risk.

xxxxxxxx. You'd better stay in bed all day. You might get hurt buttering your toast.
Why would I be buttering toast in bed, the crumbs would go eveywhere. How would I get the toast from the kitchen to the bedroom if I stay in bed all day.

By staying in bed, you won't be at risk from toast buttering. Therefore you won't die a horrible, fiery death.

(I've been doing TPAC/Pursuits for nearly two decades. No kittens have been harmed yet)

I have also been driving for two decades and no kittens have died but plod are all too keen to tell us about the risks of speeding ect.

And please dont go on about how plod are trained driving professionals because we all make mistakes - like the numbers of police dogs left to boil in hot vans.

Instead of complaining about how this sort of training is currently done why don't you enlighten everyone and explain how it should be done better (it's probably worth explaining what steps are currently taken to reduce the risks and why they are insufficient).

Sorry thats not my job, theres lots of highly paid people there who can work it out.

I am just pointing out the double standards that we are told continously that speeding and the sorts kill. Then plod think that its ok to race around us all doing training.

I take it from that you have no idea about what is done to minimise the risks involved.

The highly paid people obviously think that the current system is the best way to do things (otherwise it'd be done differently). You seem to disagree so why not explain?

The training is carried out because there are times when the Police have to carry out the techniques in the real world. If your view is that Police shouldn't ever pursue/contain vehicles then that is fair enough, however if you accept that pursuits sometimes need to take place how do you balance the risk of the training against the risk presented by having to employ the techniques without the training?

Last week I saw a greyish cavalier being chased by a single police car on the A64. Today I saw what looked like the same cavalier being chased by 2 police cars.
That's 'Cavalier Colin', a local legend - he keeps getting away from the police by the extremely fortuitous fact that him & the police are now completely in sync with their petrol consumption, meal times & toilet times. When the police stop for petrol so does he, same with food & toilets. This chase has been going on for eight years now.

Haven't local plod figured out that if they but some Mars Bars at the next fuel stop then they won't need to eat and can nab him in the carpark of Little Chef wink

They tried that; but Seargent M. Arathon who was on duty that day doesn't like Mars Bars, he insisted they stop to buy a snickers giving Colin a chance to escape again.

Well "Cavalier Colin" was being chased on the A1 this morning by 3 police cars and 2 motorbikes. Little did they he know there was another 3 police cars ahead of him! The writing's on the wall for "Cavalier Colin".

I thought that was because of his big curly wig, dashing hat and beaming smile?

Or his dog?

At first I thought PaulJ5555 was being ridiculous.

But as I read on I saw that he does have quite a point. There is hypocrisy afoot.

Gentleman's agreement dear boy, no nabbing whilst stopped for food, fuel or toilets.
