Walking through London carrying a golf club

I live in central London and an having some golf lessons next week. For these lessons I will only need a 7-iron so I won't be taking my full bag.
Am I allowed to walk around and use public transport whilst carrying a single club or am I going to be accused of carrying a dangerous weapon or something?
I know this sounds ridiculous but thought I'd ask.
I assume it'll be better if I get my mate with the baseball bat to walk a decent way behind me on the way to his match
Really? FFS! Am I allowed to walk around and use public transport whilst carrying a single club or am I going to be accused of carrying a dangerous weapon or something?

You will be fine.
If you are challenged/asked just be polite and non threatening.
If you do decide to wrap it up then add a shoulder strap so you'd not carrying it with your hands.
Try and avoid wearing a hoody, half mast jeans and listening to rap music.
In fact, do that whether you have a golf club or not.

Quite a good Youtube video on carrying automatic weapons in the street in the USA:

a golf club sock on the end would be sensible
If may not legally be an issue to carry the club, but at the same time they don't have to allow you on the tube carrying it
That's what I would do. One that looks like a horse could be handy so you could just pretend to ride it if needed.... If may not legally be an issue to carry the club, but at the same time they don't have to allow you on the tube carrying it
Sorry ....
I was stopped by the police in Wimbledon with a baseball bat. That was an Interesting chat that started with a TSG spotting about 10 of us piling out of pub at speed with bats and large bags. We were a leave team having adrik after an away match when it was noticed that we were about to miss the last tube back to Chiswick and legged it.
Nice guys, they laughed and gave us a lift to the station.

Difference is probably the same as carrying a knife, if you have a legitimate reason for carrying it, that's fine.
I used to do myself a salad at lunch for lunch, but all the work knives were crap. One weekend i bought a large kitcken kinfe with a plastic sheath, and on the monday just tucked it into my jacket pocket. It was only when I got half way to work I realised that if stopped it might take some explaining, however somone suited and booted heading into work is slightly different to say taking a kitchen knife into a football match.Gassing Station | Speed, Plod & the Law | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
