That spoils the game where the shopper consistently beats the speed at which the device works so you cut it off mid sentence. Though that does seem to confuse the worst designs. Morrisons looking at you numpties.
Morrisons have by far and away the worst self scanning machines closely followed by the ones in B&Q, Sainbsurys seem to have the easiest and quickest ones to use.Though to be fair as I tend to go on old farts discount Wednesday perhaps the staff are happy to just override the thing once and let me get on with it so they can deal with the never ending confusion of the pensioners.
My problem is not usually with the checkouts, but the condescending prats in charge. 90% of the time if the weight does not register ,I take the item off. But the half trained monkeys see an OAP and can't understand that anyone with a slight bit of programming knowledge can reverse engineer the program and work out how it is supposed to work . Problem is that when a store pays peanuts, they get low IQ monkeys.
Other problem is that certain stores first check is on what is on out tray, as they ALWAYS assume that the shopper is on the fiddle.
