Juror becoming a paid occupation - like lawyers, barristers and judges. So they know what to expect when they get into the profession. Unlike unwilling people who do not want to experience the aftermath of a horrendous crime against their will.

Sounds like a pretty good alternative to me huh?
And what happens when one of these professional jurors is up in court for some misdemeanour?

He takes on both roles, as accused and juror. After the case has been heard he has to persuade the other 11 that he is innocent. Like Henry Fonda in 12 Angry Men.
