Speed cameras in Belgium and France - can they follow you...

Never hear a dickey bird myself and am fairly sure I've been flashed in the last couple of months.

Belgium seems relaxed, everyone doing 160kph on the motorways, France don't try it and stick religiously to the limits. You get police in the laybys aiming their speed guns at you and they will stop you, afaik 45kmh over the limit and you are going no-where.

I've driven all over Europe and beyond and I've seen traffic/motorway cops in all of them (and stopped by them in a couple) but I've nerve actually seen one in Belgium, do they actually exist in that country? OP, been flashed a couple of times sausage-side but nothing followed me home.
