Rammed off road by HGV, who then drove off

A) if the car had been following the truck or even just driven past it at some stage prior to the event then there would be footage of the truck and quite possibly the number

B) if the truck rammed from behind then took off then the truck would potentially have passed a front facing camera as it drove off.

C)I know plenty of people that have them front and rear (dashcam is a generic name so isnt limited to just being fitted on the dashboard)


The only thing thats definite here is that if theres no dashcam fitted then theres no chance of reviewing any footage for any clues as to the drivers reg no. truck or driver description

This was me being rear ended last January. Only a forward facing camera but made things with insurance go smoother.

Only put the camera in 2 weeks before.

I actually missed the car in front of me. The 2 in front of him hit though and the 5 behind me all went into me.
I saw the guy behind stop in my mirror though so he was thankful for my statement and it all got put on the other 4. Although they are still fighting between themselves.

It looks from the footage that you also left your braking a little late
Were following a bit to close for the conditions.

What's your point? They haven't banned that yet.

2 cars hit each other a couple of cars ahead and I stopped without hitting any one, locking up, or even braking really hard. I think my distance was OK.

Can anyone recommend a decent dashboard camera? I've seen plenty on eBay but it's hard to tell if they're actually any good.

Good luck on this. Wonder if it was the same maniac who drove into me- then a few months later witnessed doing the same road rage antics to another driver. Without a witness you will be very lucky to get the outcome you want.

I briefly used the horn, the rumble strip disguises it - Must remember the coffee bean shake for next time though!
