Saw one of these whirring across Southwark Bridge last week. It looked extremely handy. It was in the bike lane.

I would like to see the EAPC regs amended to allow these things to operate in the same places as conventional electric bikes. I can't see any particular public interest reason why that should not happen.

That means not on the pavements, btw.

It seems that the Ryno hasn't shipped. I've just pinged them an email.

I've spent the last week playing on Segways, and in the right environment - nipping down to the shops in a small but hilly French village - they are great.

I also reviewed a Vanmoof Electrified bike - technically illegal as it's 250w - and thought it great fun, but not £2k fun.

I might see if I can borrow an Airwheel.

Wish I hadn't seen this thread, I want one, badly.....

However, I'm still very unclear here. Pavements and parks, yes or no?

Well yes, but legally? My park seems to have a lot of police patrols in it busting people smoking weed...

More importantly, can you be done bumbling along the pavement on one coming back from the pub after a skinfull?

You'll have to form your own opinion on that. TNT and hipsters are using them. No prosecutions so far, it seems.

No more than a bike really. The wheel corrects for front to back stability, so its just steering to correct for left right.

The two wheel version (side by side) is easier as it will balance on its own.

Being tested on the Gadget show on C5 shortly.
Did you watch it ?

What was their impression and did they mention where it could be used ?
They liked it a lot but did not say where you could/not use them or the legal stuff. Looked like they were using them with lots of public people about. Could call 101 and report the Gag show based on the video evidence, this may give you an answer.
