Just wondering if we have any legals that are (very!) clued up on immigration that wouldn't mind an informal chat before money is wasted if it's a no-hope case?

PM me. Also, if you end up wanting paid for immigration advice, the go to guy is Paul Simon.

I add that most of my immigration law experience has been in chucking people out on behalf of the Home Secretary (PH whyohwhyohwhyers may be pleased* to hear that I won more than I lost), but a gamekeeper can go poaching.

* but won't be - whyohwhyohwhyers love everything to be rubbish and as per DM.

There must be 50 ways to deport your illegal immigrant.

You just slip out the DesRes, Parvez,
Make a new plan, Azerbaijan,
You don't need Guantanamo, Mo,
Just leave here for free....

Etc, etc, etc...

I realise none of it scans, but I don't really care

Does it ever feel to you like you are trying to bail out a sinking ship with just a thimble?

No, because I know that the myths about immigration are myths. Working close to something is a good safeguard against buying into media BS.

My OH has just booked a hotel in the City for tomorrow night. The pricing and availability are terrible, I can only presume due to the council putting up filthy illegal immigrants in all the 4* hotels. Won't someone please think of the visiting lawyers and bankers.

Yes. As a country we need to drastically cut down on it.

Indeed. Mix the Genes up I say. Whilst I like Gap and Levis. Sometimes it's good to mix it with dirty Primark blue washed.
