In this day and age driving a Veyron you have to assume that someone is filming you or it at all times.

Love his excuses though.. First a low flying pelican, then he dropped his phone. hehe

Money can't buy you brains.

Hope they punish him as fully as possible. I remember wondering when I saw that video way back why the accident happened. Seems it wasn't an 'accident' after all.

I assumed he'd had a medical episode at the wheel. What a tool!

For that sort of money, the Insurance company are going to have their 'How Can We Get Out Of This One' Dept. working 24/7, first one to spot a get-out is on a big bonus!

Erm, they already have done. He's been successfully prosecuted for what amounts to an attempt to defraud an Insurance Company - the payout he was hoping to get is long since gone.

Am surprised Bugatti haven't tried to make a new one off special edition, the Veyron Aqua anyone ?

Yet a lack of brains can net you money.

The amount of the pay out is irrelevant, it's the fact that it was the most stupidly orchestrated fraud ever that did for him.

Most big Insurers would be very happy to pay this claim if it had been valid, they have budgeted for claims when setting their premiums so expect to receive claims and would want to pay valid claims as it makes good business sense. Their PR agency would be extremely happy as it would gain good and free publicity
