Been in the job just over a week

In Solihull, the accidents stats have actually fallen since they turned the cameras off.

I wonder how they will explain that.

I doubt they will allow a simple matter of fact to get in the way of what they want.

In the scope of his commissioner remit, I would have thought speed cameras should be somewhere toward the bottom of his priority list.

As an aside, you have to question the legitimacy of both the appointment and the office when 90% of the electorate choose not to vote. These PPCs may or may not be effective (my own suspicion is that they are little more than a safe wheely bin for failed politicians), but the public certainly isn't convinced.

It's incredible that you can earn 100k and not even have the common sense to see through the speed camera business propaganda, particularly if the figures show clearly that fewer people have died since switching them off.

What a moron.

I'd like him to be publicising the devastating impact ANOTHER £100 million being cut from the Police budget is going to do. Policing is on the brink in this country, but there always seems to be enough to pay the Politicians.

I think it relates to an ideological mindset.

He also sent an Email with the wrong election date on it and then had to send another one apologising with the correct election date on.

I think his deputy is getting a raw deal. He was the central party backed candidate for the role. So he's had his time as a Labour MP and Transport Minister and now he's occupying this post?

Just shows being an idiot doesn't stop you getting voted into a 100k job.

On the contrary, it seems to be a requirement.

I wish I was a moron.

What? I already am?

What a moron.
He's grandstanding. He looked around for something to get his name in the papers (and mentioned on forums) and chose an easy route, one which would not address the problems of his police area so that there was no way it could be shown his idea was rubbish.

So not so moronic, just a politician.
