Never realised Rochdale was part of Ireland.

Learn something new everyday.
Rochdale is not part of Lancashire either, as Blacker says - it is part of Greater Manchester.

I also don't see what his health problems have to do with dressing rather bizarrely (unless he's nuts which may be understandable).

He's what you might charitably term a "character". I used to work in Manchester and he was known to a couple of my colleagues.

Have a look at his LinkedIn profile to form your own view.....

He has disappeared from linkedin.

This article from legalcheek is amusing.

I read the comments on my phone this morning, so they cannot have gone very far. Very amusing, the comments section under LSG articles rarely approaches PH standards of antagonism, name calling and swearing, but this issue seems to have brought out the venom.

I've often wondered. Which is most beneficial as a lawyer in court. A law qualification, or a pompous voice ?

Brilliant.
Class cannot be acquired, it is inborn.

And as for the cocksocket with the medals, what a tool.

especially as the MVO say he is Not a member of the (English/ UK) Order of St John so they may be a paypal knighthood which put him firmly into Baron castle shortt territory

I argued some cases before Lord Justice "Tasker" Watkins VC. He was a tough cookie! His VC citation reads like something from Commando Comic, but it's true (unlike Sir Lord Blacker von Hogwarts' CV).

Blacker appears to have run some sort of kangaroo court before qualifying as a solicitor: http://web.archive.org/web/20031003145954/http://w...

Oi. I may not yet be Landed Gentry, but I'm not in Wibbleboy's league either.

Shock horror probe! I suppose that someone should report him to the SRA for bringing the profession into disrepute, or summat, but I CBA.

Oh I think you should, however only if you do so on posh looking paper as the Rt. Hon. Lord Breadvan of Greggs, including snazzy logo. And maybe some half wiped off steak bake juice across the bottom somewhere. Double dare you.

The sad thing about this case is that a man is serving a 5 year stretch. 10 year ban too.

Something must be done.

"Incompetence of trial counsel" is a common ground of appeal in the US, but not here. Is there any reason to suppose that the bloke sent down for phone-driving wasn't validly potted?
