56 in a 30 - what can I expect?!

I got done doing 60 in a 30 some years ago - got 5 points and a fine.

My sister 18 months ago was caught by a camera van doing 56 in a 30 (outside a village where the 30 zone starts about 1/4 outside the village). She quite rightly was crapping herself as she was also still within the 2 years of passing/ 6 points max period. A few weeks later a letter for 3 points and a £60 fine arrived. Lucky girl and has had the fortunate effect of slowing her right down.

Driving at those speeds in a 60 mph area she should have been stoned.

shouldn't she be applauded for doing 56 in a 60?

Doh, as you can guess, meant 56 in a 30

I went to court and pleaded guilty to 53.37 in a 30 (Vascar) on my RD125LC with "fallen off" L plates. I got zero points, no fine and £3 (that's 3 quid) costs.

That was in 1985 though, and I was wearing my school uniform, and the magistrate was my mates mum.
