Padlock the doors shut?

Blow them up? They are full of chemicals after all.

Place a LARGE notice on them advising that they are on private property and if not removed within 24 hours you will remove them.

Before you do that ask the shop keeper if they are anything to do with him.

They must have a value so put them on Freecycle if nobody claims them within 24 hours.

Any 3.14 keys in the neighbourhood that might be given a quiet nod?

Ring the council and report the portaloo company for fly tipping.

I think they'll be very willing to say who the client is once they have a visit from the boys in blue...

Move them so they're blocking his back door (fnaar) and then set his fire alarm off.

Do portaloos not have a lock/hasp? You could put a couple of cheap padlocks through these and see who appears with the bolt croppers.

Not sure of the legal standpoint but you are not causing any damage and as long as there is nobody in there no harm to a person.

The old 'wait until the guy is in there, drive a car up close, rev it and rock the portaloo at the same time' is always funny but in this case not required. I'd lock them up and leave a not to the effect that you'll discuss unlocking with the owner, and after a reasonable amount of time will have them removed (only as far as out of the car park of course).

Presumably the shops with doors opening to your car park have a right of way over it? Is that on foot or vehicular?

As for the portaloos, stick a notice on them for the owner to remove within 24hrs, otherwise drag them out into the road and call the police to report the obstruction. Or, hire a crane and some bungee ropes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cg-vVtDUBoU

What is it with the laws in the UK?! In the US, if someone parks/puts something on my property, I can have it towed away at their expense. I have to have my land posted as private property and call the police (and be the titled property owner) first, which is a safeguard against frivolous towing.

Why is this system so difficult to implement over there? It is mind boggling someone could use my private land and I would have no recourse.

Put up a sign saying "Please place portaloos for donation to charity here", take a photo of Portaloo and sign and you saying thanks for the donation.

Sell them on E-Bay. Give monies raised to Water Aid.

Job done.

it's probably not legal but....

I'd ask each individual shop manager/owner if they have anything to do with them, if they say no, then say "Ok no worries, if they're still there in 24 hours I'll report them as abandoned to the council"

Keep an eye out, and see their reactions, and whether they move.

Also, put CCTV up.

I often wonder this - it's almost as if someone somewhere in the whole system had a vested interest in making it difficult to get anything sensible done .....
