Take this L. You are a disgrace to the profession (if you are a real copper that is) Do you go about harrassing people on a daily basis?

You give the few good policemen a bad name.
How is he a disgrace?? How is he harassing? You posted a fairly stupid post, and he responded with a fair and valid point. That chip on your shoulder is outsized only by the axe you're trying to grind.

Not at all. Before I came to this country, I loved watching The Bill and thought he British police was the best in the world.

I arrived here and seeing them in real life without guns made me even more impressed. I even thought of maybe becoming a special.

Then my first contact with the REAL police happened and it opened my eyes. Thecwonderful British police stole my money, made fun of me in custody and didnt have the decency to apologise after realizing they got it all wrong. Took 9 years to get some sort of redress.

I think the problem is because of the high regard I held the British police in and I have just never been able to get over the disappointment of finding out that they are just as bad and corrupt as any average police force.

I'm impressed that you've had dealings with all 130,000 Police Officers in the UK.

Well either that or you've taken the experiences you've had with a handful of Officers and applied it to everyone, which would be idiotic, I'm sure you would agree.

Surely every contact - big or small will affect peoples views and opinions - whether on the street or on the net. Its often HOW they disagree that can cause problems

Eclassy needs to toughen up, if he doesn't like having his opinion questioned then he needs to stop posting it on the internet.

He has posted complete and utter misleading rubbish in the past that I have directly challenged. He was giving out ridiculous 'legal advice' and posting incorrect rubbish he dug up from Google and as a result he got corrected (and not only by me). If he can't handle it or bases his opinion of the entire service on someone who challenges his posts then he needs to grow up and stay away from the keyboard.

You know you're not allowed to disagree. What is required is a virtual doff of the cap and a 'righto Guv'ner', (I think that's what they did on the Bill).

Now now, you actually know what you're on about and don't just make stuff up or rely on the media/search engines.

lenty, unless you know otherwise (queue one internet search example).

If you act honestly, instinctively and with the best intentions you'll be fine.
So would you be considered a national hero if you trip a 15 year old who is running from the police after stealing a bag of sweets from a local Tesco. He falls, splits his head on the kerb and dies on the spot.
You chopped out the key part of the quote to strawman my post and totally misrepresent what I said and intended. Here's the key part again, as originally in my post:

Carnage said:
S.3 Criminal Law Act, any person can use reasonable force in assisting in the arrest of an offender.

If you point out he's wrong it's "harassing". Not in the real world, of course.

I'd say it's a fair assessment based on Eclassy's posting history.

Okay you've all had your fun. Back on topic now.

Still wouldnt help a policeman apprehend a suspect. I would record the police arresting someone though just so everything is done above board.

I think you have already proven that you don't have the first clue about what you're talking about when it comes to policing and the law so save your effort and phone battery.
