What if you pull the guy down to the ground and break your arm/wrist, you're off work for six weeks, as its not work related your without pay. 9000 quid out of pocket. No thanks. Stand back and watch, if I'm quick enough video it.

I think you need to...

A) Check the sick pay bit of your contract of employment.

B) Get a new job. £9k for six weeks work simply isn't good enough. This is PH, you should be earning 10 x that!!!

I'd love to put a face to a name where Eclassy is concerned however I'm guessing that he wears khaki shorts, long white knee length socks with sandals, has a limp wrist and speaks like Mavis from Coronation Street, possibly with a straggly come over from his armpits.
LMFAO

Almost completely correct.

And the daft thing is, it's not really helping the police, it's helping the victim.
The man running could be:

1. Illegal immigrant
2. A rough sleeper
3. Completely innocent - like the man in this video http://youtu.be/9llvTQn8v-c

There wont always be a victim
Two things spring to mind:
1) the video is in America, he's lucky he wasn't shot outright.
2) can you post a photo of yourself so that I can get out of the way if you're chasing your mugger down the road.

How do you know the person running away from the police doesn't have incriminating evidence about the systematic abuse of minors in public authority care?

As Vaz will doubtless give those two holders of the QPM an easy ride this afternoon over their outstanding public service over many years in Rotherham I thought I better make up for it a little.

How very noble of you.

Can your next post include an incorrect explanation of the national decision making model because we both know it's going to appear at some point so just get it out of the way.

Would you give a witness statement and attend court if you witnessed a crime, or is it just the brave stuff you'd not help with?

Didn't you go crying to every possible authoritah! to try and get the big scary man out of your property?

At least you haven't gone full retard yet, but in case you want to there is an interesting area of thought called freeman of the land you should probably look into.

Maybe some of the police bashers on here should emigrate to the USA.

Sure she had some attitude, but pepper spay followed by arresting her. eek
And for what? Totally OTT. I suspect some racial bias involved as well.

The vast, vast majority of Police Officers in the USA are decent, ordinary folk just trying to do their bit. 77 of them have been killed on duty so far this year. Let's try not to portray them as something they are not.

Just ignore, ignore, ignore. Don't even read anything attached to that user name. You know it will be utter tripe and babble.

I would help where I could and also report crimes if I see them.
I'd like to live in a society without crime so I don't mind helping to make it like that.

The Mrs is a copper too so I may be slightly biased than the general pop.

Okay you've all had your fun. Back on topic now.

Still wouldnt help a policeman apprehend a suspect. I would record the police arresting someone though just so everything is done above board.
You are an outstanding member of society.
Couldn't agree more, I rarely post on these types of discussion but this attitude really grips my shraget.
Why wouldn't you help a copper? Have you ever considered the continual dross most of these guys have to deal with on a day to day basis, it must be infuriating, you only have to watch some TV show or another for ten minutes to witness the belligerent scuffers that exist on our streets.

A few less people thinking like you, that the world owes you something and we may get somewhere ....pick your bottom lip up about something that happened ten years ago and try contributing to make this place a bit better rather than pontificating from a distance with your mobile phone in your hand. You never know, you might actually get something from it.

You're assuming that all police officers are the same. They're not.

I am still not convinced by your arguments.

Should I help the bin man lift the bin into the dump truck because he has to lift hundreds of bins a day for not much pay?

Should I help a parking attendant identify cars which have overstayed their time so he can issue enough tickets to meet his quota which entitles him to a bonus that will top up his meagre pay?

If no, why should I help a policeman do his job?

Imagine if the person who recorded the killing of Ian Tomlinson decided to put his phone/camera down and instead help drag dangerous Ian away from the good PC Harwood..... The truth will never have been known.
