I had one, they are great fun, am guessing as rare as hens teeth these days

Oh yes. Had great fun even with the 1300 engine, just a shame I never got to drive it with the valver in it.

So from what I have read OP doesn't get on with neighbors, thinks that a SORN vehicle must still be available to be used as a car and gets shirty when people point out next door can use it as shed/storage unit etc if they want.
that appears to be the TL;DR summary of it .

I approve of this thread diversion to discussion of the magnificent Jetta 16V.

So what happened about the broken Jetta? Bet that was an awkward phone call from the garage.

No he didn't call me, chased him after a few days, he said he hadn't done it yet, got to just over a week and he wouldn't answer the phone, went down there and it was in the corner of his workshop covered in boxes and st, he was nowhere to be seen, after two weeks went down there and he was there, owner is normally a right miserable bd, he came out onto the forecourt being very nice (suspiciously so). Anyway the damage was blatant but he decided to bury his head in the sand and deny all knowledge, luckily a mate of mine had actually been there when it happened and didn't realise it was my car till afterward, anyhow, after some legal advice and some letters i got £500 from the garage and £1300 from breaking it and built a corrado instead!

Or alternately, get a cheap shed and put it over the top. Then it will be 'artwork' (A shed within a shed)
Hmm, think carefully, the juxtaposition of the shed and the shed would undoubtedly have the luvvie critics arriving to drool over this piece of modern art in their droves, and once the word gets out then all the art tourists would be walking up and down your street every weekend.

Mind you, then you could set up a tea stall in your front garden and make some money to go towards those shutters?

You mean:

It was a Golf!
With a boot!

It's all in the inflection.

Also, as Roverload points out, you can get more bodies in a boot, and I add that there is less chance of pesky police officers spotting the corpses than there is when you have a mere hatchback.

As per title, my neighbours are now using their old Corsa as storage(it has cardboard and a big backed tv in it at the minute)

It has been parked up on the garden for a year or so now and is frankly a mess.

The house is rented but we cant find any details for the LL as the LR has him as living at the address in question.

Can anything be done about the eyesore that is next door?

So what?! You're seriously posting this up because you don't like the look of next doors driveway...? Move house if you're that bothered...

I don't know which I dislike the most precious "homeowners" or scummy LLs and their rough tenants.

As its marginally more the latter. Maybe contact the LLs bank and see if its a residential mortgage he has?

Is the neighbour a PH member? I would consider that they are at least containing their unwanted stuff. Some might suggest that if there were no carshed there it may be left elsewhere, maybe your front garden with no evidence of who left it there.

There are ways, but you may be too stubborn or not a kind human. Maybe they struggle with the kids and find it difficult to do other stuff, it can get on top of people. If the kids are a real problem and you really believe it's a welfare problem, speak to children's services who may conduct a home visit and assessment which could lead to genuine help.

You could also work out a way to offer to take their unwanted stuff to the tip for them and be a total godsend rather than I suspect what other thread readers may already be thinking.

Watch out for what you report to landlords and waves that you cause there, whilst for one you may not know your neighbour that well, landlords are from all walks of life and may not sympathise with your view or methods of handling. You will be making work for them, and the tenant may be a good one. With the current rules, and financial situation, landlords are relieved to have good tenants. They will not do a lot to alter the status quo unless certain a new tenant is available if required. Nothing there will be in confidence, a bit like here when read by someone with a corsa in the front garden containing a telly.

The only success I suspect you may get is if it's a leasehold property and there are covenants in there prohibiting this, I doubt a landlord agreement will, but if it is let through a high street agent, that may be different as they often will address issues and more likely to do so in confidence, assuming you already haven't made it public.

It's a small world you know, hope you find a way to play nicely. If you're on here, are you good with cars? Why not ask about the car, what's wrong with it, would they want to use it if working? They might be able to afford parts but not a garage, and you could win again by helping do a bit of work on it, and make peace in the process. Who knows you may see the other side of each other.

Jetta..... I always remember how totally out of place one looked in Fast and the Furious, just looked wrong, but they were the cheap golf alternative, and obviously went well enough, a four motion conversion would be good, then so would an E21 with a 2.0tdi E90 setup ha

FFS!

Anyway, your mean spirited little plan will fail. Ever heard of data protection?

You can find out mortgage details on a property, but it will never identify if they have lenders permission so that's a non starter, you write to the lender and notify them of letting, and you'll never hear what they do with the info, but nothing to lose if inclined to do so. You could enclose a photo of how the property appears as a result of letting too.
