Police Bike rider in accident - vid footage

I see these bikes around a lot and their main blue light is behind the rider.
If there was no siren, then IMHO its 100% the motorcyclists fault. If the siren was on then 100% taxi drivers fault.
Taxi driver pulls up to a junction sees a gap and pulls out in timely fashion enough to execute the manouevre. As he completes this manouevre and now on the right side of the road, motorcyclist crashes into him. This doesnt necessarily mean the motorcyclist was travelling on the wrong side of the road as he could have ended there because he was trying to take evasive action.
Absent any sirens, the taxi driver was entitled to make progress as he did in the video as it was safe to do so. A white bike with police written on it but no siren overtaking at a junction is no different to a white R6 with Yamaha written on it doing the same.
If the motorcyclist had his siren on or was in close proximity to a motorcade that had sirens on within reasonable distance to this junction then even if the taxi driver couldnt see the bike/motorcade, it would be careless to pull out of the junction.
It seems that the bike didnt have its siren on, was a good distance away from the rest of the motorcade and was overtaking at considerable speed at a junction.
I feel sorry for the taxi driver who wont be able to earn for some time, suffer the trauma of having such a serious accident, may possibly be interviewed in connection with terrorist offences and ultimately may be blamed for the accident.
Let me just say I wouldnt want to be in his shoes.

My thoughts exactly, a siren doesn't or shouldn't give you carte blanche, he was overtaking at a junction in traffic, he's responsible for his own safety and should have been relying on a siren or whistle (if they were being used).I never knew they used whistles so would have not known the significance of hearing one and might well have not been made aware of the approaching bike.

A "proper" convoy would have comprised of as many cycle, moped and foot plod to block every junction ahead while the close escort group always stays with the VIP. Outriders, not in the escort group, then ensure safe passage ahead, swapping places as the leads, securing the most advanced positions wait, block any hazard and then catch up from behind in a repeating cycle.
This takes an enormous amount of coordination and any short trip can never be accounted for without advanced notice. This was a simple drive home for H and there was never any need for hero tactics.
