I live very close to where the Ryder cup is being held next week, the dual carriageway (A9) has had various temporary changes for the traffic going to the event. One of these is 30mph speed limits at the main junctions.

In one of the 30 limits is a fixed speed camera, are they able to change the limit on the camera down from 70 to 30 for the temporary limit?

Sorry if I've posted in the wrong section, wasn't too sure.

They can set "the limit" on the camera to whatever they like - the question is "is there a TRO* in force to reflect the temporary 30mph limit?" wink .

*TRO = "Traffic Regulation Order"; the local authority (assuming Scotlandshire is the same as rest of the UK) will be able to show the relevant TRO on request. If it's not in place for the temporary limit then the camera can't enforce smile .

There is the concisely named The M9/A9 and M90/A90 Trunk Roads (Ryder Cup) (Temporary Prohibition Of Waiting and Specified Turns and Temporary 50mph and 30mph Speed Restrictions) Order 2014
