I've had it twice. Police take the view no-one is injured (seriously), insurance will deal with it. On one occasion I even had the reg.
If it is a fail to stop RTC then the Police should track down the other party. If it is just a bump with no injuries then there is no need for the police to get involved at all, and all that is required is for details to be exchanged.

I know. I feel like a bit of a spaz but after taking it for a run, that is exactly how it feels. I will now post a new thread ' effing useless vw garage underfills my DSG oil' laugh
I have to ask, and I'll probably regret it, what was the problem with the service that made the car feel like someone is constantly crashing into it?

So in the (initial, before the second act as it were) case, the police should have done been interested as the other party left the scene of the accident, failed to exchange details etc?

Terrible English there, but yes, they should have been interested...an offence had been committed. Unless the circumstances weren't quite as described of course.

Yes, no idea what came over me there - I can normally operate a keyboard to a slightly higher level.

Possibly my laptop is possessed.

I thought you might have been some kind of stereotypical American Yokel.

Orrr, it might just be (I am a little cloudy on the details here) a woman driver who thought someone hit her when in fact no-one did..............

Don't be ridiculous...I'm sure nobody would admit that on a public forum.

I know this case wasn't a hit and run, but...

When we reported someone hitting the wife's parked car, we walked about a bit and found a car with opposing damage.

Reported it to the police. They turned up at his door, and the other driver confessed.

The same guy was one of many people watching the car being loaded on the AA wagon, but said nothing.

But, the police were interested and did act quickly and efficiently.

It's a false alarm but thanks for the assistance. To be fair i can't blame her for thinking the car 'felt' like a shunt. She just picked it up 'Tiguan' from a service and there is something not right. It feels like a rear end shunt but im happy to say it wasnt a collision.

maybe the mods want to delete the reg details.
You can and should delete the registration yourself. At present, you are on a slam dunker libel rap if anyone happens to know the owner of the car with the number you posted.

To anyone who thinks it weird. Try dialing in 4k rpm then dumping an auto into D. Nice shunt action ensues. It's exactly like being rear ended. I know the PH massive just love to insult if there is an angle. Swerni, my wife has common sense. It was on a busy round about with cars right up her chuff. I can see how she thought it was a collision. She has a screaming 11 week old in the car so didn't take long to assess the damage (I did ask her and she said she wasn't sure). I accepted what she told me at face vale and I asked for some assistance. I have put my hand up and said I was misinformed.

I will take my chances BV re the libel case. lol

Is it common sense to rev to 4000 RPM and then place the car in drive?

she was stationary and the DSG box went out of gear (neutral) without any driver intervention. As she gave it some gas the revs rose sharply(as it was out of gear) and the box decided to engage gear suddenly, causing a violet shunt. The car had been serviced 4 hours prior (the DSG box serviced in fact).

Ive taken the car back and it's showing several gearbox faults which will be something to do with the dealers oil change on the box.

Nah... I'm good thanks...

I know that Lambos have this 'Race Start' feature so you can thrash the st out of the clutch when you are racing Subarus at the lights, but I'd never try that with my kid in the car!

Ever tried driving in flip flops? laugheek
My standard driving rig is flip flops, nipple tassles, and a standard NATO issue spandex man-thong. Is that TMI?
