Chevrons

I think I'm correct but a friend doesn't agree. This has put a bit of doubt in my mind so thought I'd just check with the fine chaps of PH ( better to be safe than sorry )

So chevrons like this in the middle of the road.

I think as long as the line is broken you can enter. If the lines on the outside are solid you can't enter.

Am I correct ?

Broken lines. You may cross if it is safe to do so.

Also "hatchings" not "chevrons" which are a tell-tale chevron shape.
