If you had taken the car back to the original dealer who sold it, they would have a duty to repair the fault under the SOGA.

SOGA states goods sold must be fit for purpose and last a reasonable amount of time.
1 week is not a reasonable amount of time.

Since the fault developed within the first 6 months, it would be up to the garage to prove there wasn't an inherent issue or problem with the clutch slave cylinder when they sold the car (more or less impossible for them to do that)

Sometimes it can force small claims action but they would normally have to either full refund or fix the car including the labour charge.

As you got it fixed elsewhere though you can't force them to pay for labour now.
