I'm afraid that I put more value in the definitions offered by the Oxford Dictionary than a bloke who doesn't understand the term racism and uses this lack of understanding to justify his own racist tendencies.

As in my example, it's highly unlikely the Daily Mail version of events given after this bloke rang them and gave his side of the story is entirely true. He was most likely a lot more aggressive and unpleasant than simply saying he's not a Muslim and the staff probably weren't as heavy handed as he implies. The Daily Mail just like an article about a badly done to old duffer with a picture of his or her "Victim of my own stupidity" face to accompany it.

Anyone who thinks it's racist obviously hasn't seen real racism in action. We've come a long way from the NF days I grew up in, but this sort of thing does a huge disservice to genuinely racist incidents.

If a Muslim said "I can't be a paedo as i'm not white" then i'd suggest that they should read the news, I wouldn't however get offended and get them arrested for being a racist.
