Also, bear in mind the chap is 75 years old, and almost certainly, like myself, he will not bow down to this liberal PC crap.
And therefore from a generation which deemed it okay to include signs reading 'No dogs, no blacks, no Irish' in hotel windows.

Whilst that generation may have done a lot for this country, they wouldn't be the generation you'd ask to return for a lesson in equality.

The OP is clearly a bigot just like the bigot in the news report.

Best policy with bigots is not to engage with them.

They are, generally speaking, unpleasant and ignorant.

If the person he said his ridiculous stupid comment to perceived it as being racist then the police are duty bound to act on it, the daily mail won't say that though.

It's a stupid thing to say in the first place, why even say it? He was asked to remove his shoes because he was going through security, no sympathy from me he should have kept his mouth shut. He's saying only Muslims should be subject to more detailed searches, they guys an idiot.

Are you admitting openly to making racially/religiously aggravated comments?

So someone makes a complaint of a serious nature and the authorities deal with it accordingly, and you'd like to see them all lose their jobs?
So a person makes a comment about not "being a muslim " is seen as being racist is it?

In this day and age I suppose this person could be seen as a bit of a tit .

But not in any way shape or form as big a tit as the tit who took offence at it or the tits who responded and acted on it .

And for the record I'm not a muslim either and very very proud of it !!!

Especially with the st surrounding that particular religion and its followers at the moment !!!

And for general information ,just to be clear on a certain point , everybody on this planet is either a racist or liarfurious

Let battle commence.

I actually remember those times, and although I don't remember hotel signs, I do remember the house for sale signs saying "no blacks", I was only a child at the time though.

I would consider "no blacks" to be racist, but I most certainly do not consider "I'm not a Muslim" to be racist.

Or could he have been referring to the Muslim requirement to take shoes of when entering a place of worship?

Any one can choose to be alarmed or offended, stupid law which causes me distress and alarm, or am I just saying that to get a reaction or can I sue?

Certainly a racist incident if the security guard perceived mateys comments to be racist..but a racially aggravated public order offence? It would depend on his manner of speaking to the security guard - if just a passing comment whilst slipping his shoes off then arrest would seem to be a bit heavy

What do you think was the reasoning for such a comment? What do you think he was implying?

He's implying that people from those times are racist, and I think he's wrong, we just had more choice regarding who and where.

I don't recall it being an issue, one of my grandmothers lived in an area called "Small Heath" in Birmingham, a very black area even when I was a boy, like I said, I don't remember any issues, I don't even remember anyone even commenting.

Whilst his comment was inappropriate and out of order I honestly cannot see how anyone decided it amounted to an offence if that was all that was said.

I think there is probably more to this than is being reported, either that or the cops or CPS have messed up. All racial charges have to be authorised by the CPS anyway so they must have had sight of the evidence before he was actually charged a long time before the case was dropped.

Only in one direction though, only the caucasian side are ever racist, which was an earlier point I made that seems to have been missed.

"Kill the infidels" ....... that's ok.

"I'm not Muslim" ............arrestable apparently.

Is it just me ?

As a former BAA employee I can confidently assert that airport security only laugh at jokes if they are making them and they are at your expense. Border control come a close second. Please and thank you are also missing from their vocabulary. Customer service is an alien concept.

It's not surprising that people sometimes crack a joke to try and lighten the ordeal otherwise known as air travel but it's ill-advised at an airport. Any excuse to hassle you will be ruthlessly exploited.

I work and occasionally socialise with bunch of Muslim guys and not one of them has ever said 'Kill the Infidels'. They'd be fking offended to being compared to shoe bombers by thoughtless casual racists though.

Anyway, that whole article is written to elicit 'PC gone mad' comments - fk the Daily Mail grumpy
