Strange Black American Truck on M42

Spotted this vehicle charging down the outside lane with flashing blue lights on vehicle and trailer. No markings for police on it.



Anyone got an idea who/what it is?

I googled and found a couples of links from spots in same location from 2013/14 but no one knew what it was all about. The one I saw was driving solo, the older spots included a convoy of vehicles.

Any boys in blue have a clue?

clearly right hand drive and a UK plate on it

A fair description of the truck I'd say? It looks like a Ford F150 that is not generally sold in the the UK but is very common in America?

Its an American Ford (looking at the blue oval on the front) truck. Ford don't make a truck like that for the UK market, but it maybe an Australian/somewhere else spec that uses RHD'S. Most things can be registered and be given a UK plate

There was a thread on here a couple of weeks ago talking about a convoy with similar vehicles, i think it was concluded it was some secret anti terrorism test going from London out.

It's an F350 chassis cab that's then been kitted out.

They have to get Government approval for registration as they can't go through the normal route.

Last time I checked, there were an awful lot of American cars on the road with UK number plates...

Above post is spot on if that is what it is, doesn't look much use in a riot though?

Also it's been repeatedly sighted around the M/A42 'making progress' northwards with lights flashing.

thats what I was thinking, but it seams a little limited? what sort of height can you get with them? or is it literally for 1st floor/low roofs.

and the big American one you can load up a hole team Im guessing as its huge.

I suppose in the riots it was more of an evacuation application, what with the muppet's setting fire to everything.
