Whilst staying at a friends flat over night I acquired two parking tickets (I stupidly believed said friend when told "don't worry they never check on a weekend and you will be gone before 9am anyway")
I don't mind forking out for one ticket as I was indeed parked in the near empty car park but I think it is a little OTT to have been stung for two tickets one at 20:14 and another one the next day at 8:11, within 12 hours of each other.

I have had a browse of the POPLA website and also the BPA website but cant seem to see any guidelines for the length of time between issuing tickets. Is it just a case of it was the next calendar day? Because in that case you could be done at 23:59 and 00:01 for two tickets. Any advice re appeals would be useful and or a link to a section of the guidelines for times between tickets would be good.

Unfortunately ignoring it isn't really an option as it is a company car and I don't want the fleet manager on my back.

Speak to them and say the car park was empty so there was no loss to the land owner. Say you will pay for one ticket.

Log onto pepipoo.com and register. put up your problem and follow their advice to the letter.
This way you will not pay one penny

also do not contact ukpc at all
Do not admit you are the driver

But DO get onto pepipoo ASAP

posters on the who give good advice are Gan, schoolrunmum and hcanderson. the more posts to their name they can be trusted. BUT do as they say to the leter, Did i say that already???

The bottom line is you can either
Pay one/two tickets at your cost of at least £60.00

OR

Follow pepioo and not pay a penny, in fact you could even get UKPC to fork out £30.00 at POPLA, where you WILL win

confusedI can't see anything in his post which mentions the name of the PPC.

The other issue A potential problem could be the fact it's a company car. Whichever PPC it is, the NtK will go to the company, so his fleet manager will probably get the hump. There is also the risk that said manager will not check whether the NtK is fully PoFA compliant and simply nominate him as the driver: quite possibly without any prior discussion.

I agree with you though. MSE is another good resource - srm is Coupon-Mad on there.

As mad as this sounds it's fairly close to the truth. UKPC follow the British Parking associations code of conduct.

http://www.britishparking.co.uk/write/Documents/AO...

The bit you're interested in is on page 19:

''The amount of the parking charge that the driver is being
asked to pay must be based on a genuine pre-estimate of
the loss you suffer, resulting from the breach of contract
or act of trespass. We would not expect this amount to
be more than £100. If the charge is more than this, you
must be able to justify the amount in advance.''

Clearly not reasonable for the charge to double overnight in an empty car park.

Assuming you're happy to pay one of the tickets - make an offer to them in writing that you will be prepared to make them a goodwill gesture of the amount of 1 reduced ticket to settle now. If they accept - pay it. If you're lucky enough for them decline follow it up advising them to proceed with small claims if they believe the 2 charges are reasonable- if/when you get anything through from small claims reply to it highlighting the above and how you have tried to resolve this with them already and have not refused to pay what is in quotation marks above.

Thanks guys I am going to have a browse of the other websites but I think I will probably try writing to them as I would pay £60 to keep the fleet manager off my back as he is a bit of a "jobsworth" type.

FWIW, I have had 2 UKPC tickets in the last couple of years & all that happens is you get 3 (iirc) letters, the first 2 threatening dire financial doom if you don't cough up (damage to credit rating etc.) and the 3rd is more of a begging letter offering a discounted rate (to save you the trouble of having to deal with their in-house "debt collectors"). Ignore all of them & you'll get a final one from said "debt collectors", again in a threatening tone giving you a final chance to pay before they take out proceedings.

I'm still waiting for the court papers...
