This is how good their customer services are.
I just had a parcel of ours redelivered after Parcelmonkey chastised me over email from having a customer who could not accept a delivery.

The customer is a school.

Their first attempt was after 6pm. The second attempt, after making the 'schoolboy error' that schools are indeed not open at 6pm was to attempt redelivery the following day.

At 6.55pm.

Parcel monkey contacted me with a rather snotty email saying that if the customer did not pick up the parcel from their depot, 30 mins away, it would be returned to us.

Or, I was given the option to contact them to pay an additional sum for a third delivery. It was not indicated whether this would be attempted in business hours...

I've posted two items with them both of which the address was 'inaccurate and incorrect'

I've double checked this with both buyers who gave me the same address and confirmed it was right.

The customer service is one line every day.

I spent about £40 on postage and they have failed to deliver therefore no provided the service I paid for.

I paid with VISA debit so going to go into the bank and issue a chargeback

Never used Parcel Monkey, but I have used 'ParcelHero' and can highly recommend them.
A friend used them recently, sent a 1.5kg item to Seattle for something stupid like £22, a good price for any service but it went *FedEx next day pre-10.30am*.

So thought I would update on this.

Got my two parcels returned having told them to stick their two £65 admin fees up the monkeys arse.

I requested chargeback from VISA through my RBS account and they have refused saying they're not allowed to but wouldn't say anymore than that.

I paid them £40 and they held both parcels in the depot and didn't attempt to deliver either of them.

£40 isn't going to put me on the breadline but it's the principal that they're probably doing this hundreds of times a week.

I've told them over the last week that they have 10 days to return the money or i'll be taking this further.

I've basically told everyone i know and thousands on twitter/FB and done several reviews etc to avoid this company like the plague and many have done so.

Anywhere else I could take this as this company deserves to go out of business.

Had a similar problem with ebay. I bought an item from the USA but when it arrived it was the wrong one. Ebay said that they would organise its return. Sent me all the labels to attach and told me to take it to the Post Office. Didn't hear anything for several weeks. Contacted ebay who told me that according to tracking number it hadn't moved. Spent hours trying to talk to them and eventually was told to send proof of postage which I did. Then they said that this wasn't enough as they needed proof of postage with the address that it was sent to. Post office can't do this as it was a Commercial invoice. Ebay then closed case. You can't talk/contact anyone who has any authority.

Timely.

I used Parcel Monkey and DX for the first (and last) time in early december.

After 10 days the parcel was collected - following several complaints and claims that nobody was in, cards left etc (all bks).

Then things went downhill. Two incorrect parcels were delivered, then they said they'd lost my parcel. More complaints and they offer me a refund as 'compensation'.

I asked about compensation on top of the refund (because a refund of a fee for something they didnt do is hardly compensation is it?).

Then they say that they've found my parcel and its at their office.

Then they'll get it sent to me when it arrives at their office.

One point that really irks is their insistence when complaining that it isnt their responsibility, they are only a price comparison service.

I wish I'd seen this post an hour ago. I've just used them as a front for parcel force for a uk to uk delivery. I imagined parcel force were going to pick up and deliver and the price was just a reflection the monkeys bulk buying discount?

I arranged for a collection on the Monday, and it was a no show via Parcelforce/PM.

I called Parcelforce every morning and night and emailed Parcelmonkey every morning and had no joy after a week of waiting.

PM say they are only a comparison site, and Parcelforce are not interested as I never booked it through them.

I guess if all else fails I could take it to the depot.

I'm not looking forward to claiming on the insurance if the worst happens

Reminds me of when I sent a guitar effects pedal to Brazil. Never heard anything, no feedback left.

A couple of months later I get a RM red slip, parcel to collect. Down to the PO I go, only to collect the effects pedal! I tried to contact the buyer, no luck, so I tried to refund his payment anyway, couldn't do that as the slow boat had taken it out of the refund period.

I still had the money, and the pedal.

Sold it again, UK only. I still haven't heard from Brazil.
Send a payment to his e-mail address, using PayPal? idea

I've had similar issues with Amazon's delivery "service" trying to deliver to business addresses in a residential area after 5PM. On Xmas Eve!

Twitter might be your friend in a case like this.

It's what it is, but it eBay care what it says.

Amazon isn't really set-up for business transactions, at work we regularly get couriers delivering on behalf of Amazon well after 5pm. The problem is prime member deliveries can be made upto 9pm but Amazon do not discriminate between residential and business addresses in terms of how they book it with the courier.

Interesting to hear these tales as I was considering getting a couple of parts for the car delivered by Parcel Monkey rather than collecting them. Might be safer to take the time out and go and get them.

I be been messaging them all week asking for the £40 I paid them to be returned without any response.
I've told them unless they do within 10 days things will be get difficult for them.

I've also posted numerous status on Twitter and Facebook and they just remove them.

I've also registered with evey review site and given them a scathing review.

I plan to do this everytime until I get a full refund.

I've also had similar issues with DPD which got sorted quickly.

So on here we see numerous posts complaining about courier companies failing to deliver. All the complaints without exception (I think!) are about those at the lower end of the pricing spectrum.

So people then decided to use an even cheaper system, which is cheaper but adds a further level of interaction, and additional opportunities for it to go wrong. They are then surprised when it does go wrong!

Seems to me tat if you buy cheap you have to expect a greater opportunity for it to go wrong and complaining, threatening illegal actions etc is not going to win sympathy from me.

Parcelmonkey have blocked me from their twitter site for complaining about poor service. I was promised a full refund 4 months ago and still waiting.

I mean, don't get me wrong, it's dead handy to know that they're actually trying to deliver when people are actually going to be in, but well, you'd have thought they'd work out the difference between business and domestic addresses...
