Notice of prosecution - continued

Regardless of what you do, I'd suggest that you remove those pics, "wash" them of all data (the info in the black boxes) and link to the 'washed' photos. Possibly that ship has already sailed, mind...
And in future, "wash" the pics before you post them for the first time .
If this goes to court and you start arguing about a lack of calibration cert, I suspect this thread may make an unwelcome appearance... Going that way is potentially very expensive - being found guilty after a 'not guilty' plea incurs prosecution costs of around £500 to £600 before the fine and 'victim surcharge' plus penalty points.
The untimate insult will be if you plead 'not guilty' and the prosecution bring in RSS (you might even get to meet one of our members on their "dream team" ), you'll be looking at costs just north of £2k for their attendance plus the rest (as above) after being found guilty... This would normally happen only after your defence suggests that the equipment used is unreliable or used wrongly, things like that...
Tread carefully .
You're looking at a summons for 77 in a 50, anyway.
can i ask the reasoning for removing the photos? after all, the police have a copy of these photos already so its nothing new to them? And in future, "wash" the pics before you post them for the first time .

My point is that you need to do the research and then maybe decide a course of action that exploits any weaknesses. Without a 'plan' you may as well take he 'bonus' points.
your point was :-Boosted LS1 said:
Yep, I'd make them prove it and that's why I've not had points on my DL since 1980.

Tip which worked for me for years.....take the front plate off, especially on that....given me the opportunity to reverse away and go the long way around a few times now.
pure classThat was a little while back now, only doing about 3k miles in the car a year now so don't encounter them often so don't bother

Regularly, 30k a year made that a necessity, however I drive at an appropriate speed (almost all of my driving was off peak) but an appropriate speed and the number on a stick more often than not are not the same...
ahh i see, you decideit was so appropriate that you took the plate off - rather than get caught and take your fight about the number on a stick to the courts?

The fine and potential ramifications are entirely disproportionate

also with your plate on you still got flashed?

and it seems you aren't entirely consistent on how your cleverness mitigated having any dealings with traffic cops

Been driving 7 years or so and pulled over somewhere around 50 times, all barring one (78mph on motorway) I've been on my way.
Sounds a lot but:
15 or so when I was 17-19 y.o and had the number plates stolen from my car - "reports of stolen plates"
5 times in my Astra when the front plate "fell" off (nothing to do with the 25 miles a day of spec's cameras on my commute)
25 or so when I was 21-23 in my 335i, living in SE London "is this car stolen"
3 times in my dad's old Jag S-type, both at 4:30am taking my brother to work, again "is this stolen"
1 time in my track prepped EP3 (and for the first time was talked to like something on the bottom of a shoe)
2 times in my current 540i - "look in a rush"
Plus a few more to boot, worst was 3 times in 36 hours....

At least the rest of us are a bit safer now if you're not driving so much.........
Fair points, most recent flash was on a motorbike from the rear...
Admittedly I now have the plates on and have for some time, I just get very frustrated with the vans and specifically their placing, where the OP was, why is that road not de-restricted nsl (in its purest form)? Outside a busy school at kicking out time it would be justified at 20, the number on a stick isn't consistently right in all situations and its never enforced in the one time it is appropriate....

you know but don't like the consequences
(genuinely) you'd be better working on your frustrations
(and haven't you only recently done your CBT and flashed already on mbike?)

Admittedly I don't have it off now as I do sub 3k miles a year but before web doing 30k a year I had it off for about 2 years, got pulled over twice for it "sorry officer it fell off, it's here in the footwell and must have fallen off the dash"
Worst case it's a non-endorseable small fine

Worked for me for a number of years with the type-7. The garage was always tight to park in....
