Why would he want a solicitor to sign as a witness? If you were making a will (for example) it would not be appropriate to ask the solicitor who drew it up tho act as a witness so perhaps I can see their reluctance to sign.

Just realised that the bank deeds of covenant on our Dublin project were witnessed by my PA. Which bank Is it?

I don't know, but as BV suggested a million times or so, I'm signing it in the morning, the bank are happy with this ............ he thinks !
