Did the OP get pulled and fined or was he driving a hire car?

If you are pulled, you pay a 'deposit' and then receive the paperwork at a later date. Normally the deposit covers the fine if your speed was not hugely over the limit especially on a Autobahn.

In this country the only way a fine can be enforced is when it is a fine given by a court in the United Kingdom. How are the Germans going to get this to happen when UK courts have no jurisdiction within Germany? Would the UK CPS proceed to gather evidence and make a case by visiting Germany and, even if they did, would a UK court be able to accept this as an offence under UK legal jurisdiction. What offence would the defendant have committed under UK laws?
