Well done to the Daily Mail for running a big advert on it.

Why would you ever need this dont drive like a Dcensoredk when other people are around for you to kill and you wont have an issue. I strongly suspect that its a complete con anyway. If your in a very built up area its going to go off every 5 minutes as there is always an emergency services about. "UK distributor CBS Automotive claims it will prevent accidents by alerting drivers to emergency vehicles rushing to incidents" So the blue lights and loud siren dont already do that. BIG EXPENSIVE CON wouldn't be surprised if its nothing more than a few LEDs a battery set to go off at random times.

Mine aren't free - glasses/contacts are really quite expensive, and I have to feed and maintain the device that carries them........

If mugs who drive like fcensoredkwits are gullible enough to shell out a grand, then best of luck to the manufacturers. As has been said, Tetra is used by all the blue light services, and it will presumably give a false positive when you are in the vicinity of the masts. Plus, of course, it's not going to make any difference in terms of speed cameras (fixed site or mobile run by SCPs), CCTV or other motorists phoning in examples of shoddy driving.

...and just to reiterate, as we've done this before -

As the topic has resurfaced, I'll repeat what I said on the original:

If this monitors Airwave, be aware that Police, Ambo, Fire, HATOs and ISUs (Incident Support Units - barrier repairs etc.) all use the same kit.

Sounds like an awful lot of false alarms to me!

It would also be interesting to hear if Police would regard this as a scanner on Police frequencies, as that may open a whole new tin of tuna.

It it actually works then I can think of plenty of better uses for it than to help people get away with speeding. Burgling, mugging drug dealing... You will know if anyone is within half a mile off you.

If they did become popular police would either get them banned or would simply turn them off? plenty of other ways of communicating.

A friend off mine had some sort of similar device for detecting speed traps, on the occassions I used to drive his vehicle while repairing it the bloody thing used to go mental when I passed the local police station I dont know how he could be bothered with it.

Maybe if you took the time to read some of his other posts? No?

You are clearly having a bad day - and maybe it's time to step away from the computer. But there is nothing I've said or done that should lead you to attack me.

No. Pretty good day actually. And if you think that's an attack, I retract my previous statement.

As you have told people to read me other/older posts I'd suggest you do the same... I've not done anything illegal in years. That doesn't mean I'm not entitled to an opinion.

If this is you on a good day - then I'm glad I don't have to deal with you on a bad one.
