That's the kind of thing that happens when unconscionable force meets irredeemable object. wink

Pistonheads! Where attacking lone females is reasonable if she's a traffic warden!

I think it's possible the meaning was that the punishment was reasonable rather than the act of the water pistol wielding chap...

Water pistol? In stitches. What a ridiculous punishment. Traffic warden's are not 'premium' citizens.
I've no idea what a "premium" citizen is, it's not a legal term. Everyone deserves the protection of the law, the woman did nothing wrong and was clearly upset, and she gets comments on her breasts here and complaints that the punishment was "ridiculous".

I hope someone calls your wife a cxxt when she's at work and sprays her with stuff.

This being PH I can see it going badly as a discussion as the powerfully built be-goateed company director 'net contributor' sociopaths consider that this is the criteria for 'Premium citizenship'.

alternatively the definition might be the emergency services / health services / military triumverate

I don't see any mention of private education in the article. Although the picture of a flabby, overweight, over indulged, tcensored with an apparent sense of entitlement, lends some credence to your suggestion. Disappointing that he didn't mention pleb though. Due to that omission he's just been crossed off Mr Mitchell's Christmas card list. wink
The quote about his schooling was from the DM article, specifically: He described himself as a 'gentleman who attended a public school' and insisted the only time he's picked up the toy pistol was to squirt his dog.

Poor Ms Harrison, she must have gone through absolute hell that day.

Hope she gets ££££££££'s of compensation when she sues her employer, come the flashbacks, hot flushes and whiplash.

I did wonder how she manages when it rains.

I agree.

Would any of you like to be verbally abused and sprayed with a liquid by someone bigger than you?

Hes lucky no passerby decked him.
May I just add to that, those who seem this is a bit of a joke, please do tell what you would like to see as a punishment to a guy who verbally abused your wife/kids at a check out, and pulled a gun out (we now know it was a water pistol).

A pat on the back, 24 hours community service maybe.

Though it pains me to say it, I think Singlecoil is owed an apology here.

If you've got a problem with parking. Take it up with the council not someone on a pittance who chooses to go out, in the cold and rain rather than claim benefits.

She isn't a tabloid Journalist but doing a st thankless and cold job that sadly is a necessary evil. Only the childish cowards lash out at them when they are fined.

I've had a parking fine. Forgot and got back to see a warden sticking the fine on. I think I said 'oh nuts' (and silented kicked myself to remember next time).

Ive been ticketed only once, went out one winter evening to get my hair cut, didnt pay attention to where the parking ended and the loading started. Came out to the car and thought bks what a numpty. Paid the bill and pay more attention to where Im parking.

On the water pistol side of things, it reminds me of a small incident that could have been a bit bigger out in Ibiza in the late 80's. Several of us went out for a holiday and bought little water pistols to shoot at each other. One guy, we called him Chudneyfkwit, turned and squirted what he thought was one of us, but in fact turned out to be local Police! The officer grabbed the gun and my mate and proceeded to empty it into his face, then handed it back laughing. Good job he found an officer with a sense of humour!

Either way they do not deserve verbal abuse, it's about time motorists lightened up and realised that parking restrictions apply to them.

Quite right, and Ambleside now has a major problem with parking since the coucil changed all the parking controls, and the locals are furious, but seem unable to do anything about the railroaded changes.

I am not a fan of traffic wardens, but the abuse was not warranted, and the foul mouthed bd got off lightly
