Sometimes it happens that someone buys something without understanding exactly what it is they've bought. If you aren't happy with it, and thought it was going to be a proper tree, then take it back and get your money back.
Yes OP, you must do this. Right now.

Speaking as someone who used to be a shopkeeper, stuff like that happens sometimes, and no matter how daft or ill-informed the customer is, that's what you have to do if a customer isn't happy.

Yup. I used to sell Christmas Trees when our family had a garden centre. I *think* on this occasion, the op may be pulling your chain.

Having said that, it was the time of year we had to service all the crazies, who didn't come to the centre during the Summer. We actually sold a tree which was held together by gaffer tape because the customer wanted a certain height, which we didn't have as it was Christmas Eve. smile

Garden centres are a rip-off. Oil is now under $60 a barrel yet our local garden centre charge £30 for half an empty barrel.

I've just been to a garden centre and paid £75 for a tree, however I've noticed that it's had its root cut off. I've called the garden centre and they are saying I shouldn't try to plant it, that I should keep it indoors and it's only supposed to last until just after Christmas.

This doesn't seem right and I cannot help but feel I'm being had over. Any legal experts able to advise on this please?
One of these then. wink

I can see the roots on that one. I like how they've been ornamentally shaped into a circle.
