I'm in court 7th April they have summoned me for 2 separate speeding offences (first one 92mph second one considerably more) although it was the same journey (fell for being goaded for over 10 miles by unmarked bib)

Unmarked Audi would come up behind me then refuse to overtake when I pulled over got sick of it & accelerated to get away from them. Then slowed down through roadworks & when they did the same again after roadworks I put my foot down to lose them then on came the blue lights.

No excuses but have appointed solicitor as really cannot afford to lose my license for a long time.

I have genuine extenuating circumstances for not being without license (apart from being essential car user at work) so I'm praying for short ban & fine.

North Wales police by the way A55 NSL Dual Carriageway.

Why do people still fall for that?

I am staggered that people get caught speeding at all any more. Dont get me wrong I'm no do gooder, I dont speed for one reason and one reason only, and that is so I don't get caught, anyone who expects me to be somewhere will just have to wait a bit longer for me-or go home I don't care which.

Its like parking, why park on a yellow line? its crazy, there must be a 95% chance you will get a ticket within 2 mins. Far far easier to avoid anywhere with parking restrictions and either shop on line or go somewhere out of town with their vast car parks.

If I did get caught though I doubt I could bring myself to say sorry to a couple of old duffers sat on a wooden seat like a pretend king, I think I would go on a round the world cruise for six months.

I know, how is a vehicle that doesn't overtake you goading you?
I had the same car behind me without overtaking me for about 10 miles yesterday, so what.

Probably because they were sat an inch off his bumper and driving agressively, more than likely breaking every rule they are supposed to uphold. Normally you would just boot it and leave them to their inferior driving skills, however you hear about this trick so often now its best to just tilt your rear view mirror up and ignore them. Its like the scam emails, I thought everyone knew about them these days-apparently not.

1) That wasn't said in the OP
2) If I have somebody close behind I just make sure I keep enough room in front that their proximity is of little consequence. Going faster isn't likely to help that (on the previously described behaviour) because they'd likely just go faster & we'd be in the same position just doing it all at higher speeds.

I saw as goading as they would accelerate up behind me then refuse to overtake when I pulled across.

They did this several times coming up close then dropping back & I stupidly reacted.

I dont suppose they had video of your offences, did they? You could always ask for ALL the video to be played. Won't help you, mind smile

Hi Kippax,

I got done by the same Audi (Graphite Grey?) on the A55 this week. The average speed they clocked over a mile or so was 90.

I was told I will be notified of the punishment (penalty points/fine or course) within the next 8 weeks.

I am not excusing the speed (and neither did I to the officers), but I kept a safe distance to cars in front, and slowed down to 70 when other cars were ahead. However, when the lane cleared I accelerated, as did the Audi. This happened over 3-5 miles. No danger to anyone, but obviously the law is the law and I have to accept it.

First time I have been caught for speeding after 13 years of driving!

Poor driving by those who ought to be setting a better example (were it not being done very deliberately)?

The biggest problem is that 100 really isn't all that fast with todays (hell, even yesterdays) cars. Even in my own 12 year old, japenese estate car the ton will come up at the end of 3rd in a quick enough fashion.

I can say with confidence that mildly tweaked 03 impreza will sit at 130+ for 20 miles or more. I love that autobahn, me...

Not kittens, puppies or children were harmed in the making of this deduction.

And what the hell happened to the planned 80 limit on the motorways from a year or 2 back???

That's the one clearly good at getting people to fall for it.

Lovely road, I used to drive it 2 twice a month to Holyhead but they are so keen in Wales to catch you, you've just have got to admire the scenery whilst driving on it!

Hope it goes OK for you.

Tbh a true 100mph is too fast when you consider most others are plodding along at 70 or below. I tend to cruise at 80-85 on the speedo which seems to be faster than most other road users; only get a few people overtaking me at that speed.
