I have a 60ish mile commute to do daily, and cruise at about 60 as it's off boost and I get 35mpg as opposed to 25 at 75/80.

I would not for one second suggest that people should be attempting the double ton through rush hour traffic, but when it's 3am on a summers Sunday night and you haven't seen another vehicle in either direction for 10 miles, well...
