Insurance issue.. again
Discussion
Spoke to them, there is a possible IT issue, either causing the cover not to be sent to the mid or mid informed that cover was cancelled, due to the way they work the nice lady could not speak to the people involved but put a request through for them to look at it in due course.
If I am stopped by the police I must ask them to contact sureterm who can confirm that I am covered. No advice given regarding what to do in the event of ANPR auto issued letters. Because I forgot to ask.

So they confirm you are insured.
They do.Insurers, in my experience, generally advise the insured to tell them if this stuff doesn't arrive in a timely fashion .

Did the insurance certificate and schedule, plus the other bumph, arrive in the post in a thick envelope a few days after you purchased the policy in October?

Yes all the papers arrived in a most timely manner. And as ever, I did check it on the MID after a couple of weeks.Insurers, in my experience, generally advise the insured to tell them if this stuff doesn't arrive in a timely fashion .

Having done this job in the past I can tell you that trying to call people about unpaid instalments is a waste of time. Either-
They don't answer.
They answer but "can't talk about this now so can you call me in an hour" (all future attempts at contact fail).
They "can talk about it now" and treat you to half an hour of increasingly desperate flim-flamming about how they'll pay it all off if you can just see your way to extending the 7 days to a month. You can't because once the 7 day letter is issued its either pay up or p*ss off. So it's a stand off.
That's not a problem if at least an attempt is made. Everybody makes mistakes, both policyholders, banks and even insurers! As many reasonable communications as possible will help pick those up.They don't answer.

Yep paid and money been taken, checked my statements last night. No refund, no ncb it's a classic policy.
Without reading all the other replies it sounds like the details have been put in wrong for the reg number. Had it with a car of mine AKS 406 went in as AK 5406. Took 6 months before I got tugged off plod for 'no insurance' but it took all of about 10 minutes to get put right. Just call the broker and ask them whats going on, who is the policy with/through??shep1001 said:

Well it came up on MID after starting the policy, and then went off it recently. Sureterm.
