I'll ask you the same two questions as I've just asked Lucrelout.
The problem here is that whilst I could answer your questions you aren't able to process the response.

Go and have a think about the points that have been made in this thread that you've not responded to - when you can actually take part in a debate, come back again.

You certainly look very intimidating in the photograph.

Are you having a word with someone about their social conscience, and how that is incompatible with your view on "busybodies"?

I think you need to work on your reading comprehension skills, but leaving that to one side:

- Do you understand the point of having a registration plate on a motor vehicle?

Is it to antagonise strangers?

"and thus the only reason to do it is to antagonise strangers", from your post - suggests that a legible registration plate has no value, and that the act of cleaning it is purely to antagonise the owner of the vehicle with the illegible plate.

I'm drawing attention to you making a ridiculous assertion in order to mock you, something you make very easy.

So is the motive behind cleaning someone else's registration plate that it somehow makes the roads safer or is it purely about ensuring no-one could possibly avoid the identification of their vehicle?

I'd be grateful if a wiper could be explicit about this.

Try me.

I answered your question. In case it's not clear, I was being sarcastic. To be crystal clear, I imagine there'd be more Police stops, more fines, some kind of Brake inspired publicity campaign, a boom in Turtle Wax shares and then everything would return to the situation we're in now. That is, one where this is simply a non-problem. Never happen though would it? Most people seem to derive pleasure from having a clean car, there are even forums based on the topic.

Just clean your plates and nobody need do anything to your car. If the plate is dirty by some oversight then you'll not mind someone's given it a once over. If it's dirty to hide your vehicles identity, well, tough: You don't get to drive anonymously. If you want to be anonymous, take the bus.

Won't happen. Nigel from accounts might dress like John Rambo, he might even talk like him, but underneath it all, he's just an accountant and not at all cut out to be starting fights over his lack of automotive cleanliness.

Keep doing it and report back. There's certainly no chance of geting thumped for not cleaning your car but I think you're asking for trouble and it will find you eventually.

Can you clarify your motive please?

Even then you'll be running after it, cloth in hand...

Unfortunately your sort - passive aggressive - really can't complain when people criticise them. If you're going to get all hissy over cmoose's very mild rebuke I suggest you get some help.

It's not a rebuke, it's a fairly basic example of "look over there!" as a debating technique, which also exposed him (and you) as a bigot.

But knock yourself out with the ad hominem.

After all, no one can identify you with your (nudge nudge!) dirty plate.

Do all you saddos who go around cleaning other people's plates also extend that largesse to cleaning dirty windows and lights?

Maybe a step further and change the pads when they are clearly near the metal?

They must be really mourning the death of the tax disc.
