Some good advice given & confirmation of my own thoughts throughout the thread.
Yes, foolish of me to trust them but lesson learnt.
I got Jeep uk involved & wrote a letter with all the events/dates etc.
They've offered to replace the vehicle without any real resistance.
Happy with the outcome.

This brought back memories.
A dealer tried it on once, finally came to collecting the car and refused to take it without the promised service book, he handed over a pack of handbooks/service books. Got caught up in a bit of traffic on the way home and had a look at the books he had handed over, it was for a different bloody car.
I went straight back and in front of a few people in the showroom I told him in no uncertain terms what I thought of him. Closely followed by tearing up the paperwork and demanding the keys back to the p/ex I had left there.

Main dealer Toyota did this to me on a 4yr old car. Turned out if had one indie stamp in 4yrs. Their response?
'We'll give a fresh service bringing it right upto date'.
I got a full refund. I was pissed off.
I always ask to see the V5 AND history now. If it's 'can't it's data protection' (I've heard that before) or 'we keep all historys in a safe for safe keeping'. I walk. It means 'we are hiding something'.
Nowadays main dealers want full book price for the cost of a full Valet on patchy history/owner cars'

It makes you wonder how some of the dealers stay open doesn't it? 'We'll give a fresh service bringing it right upto date'.
