So...he actually paid up in full via BACS this morning from his personal account with initials of him and his wife i presume. I don't think it's full sunk in yet.

Well done,

Glad you got your money due.

How did RT get involved ? where you able to get hold of RT, and tell them of your predicament,?

vette
When I realised what was happening after reading some reviews I contacted a few of the reviewers to see how their scenario played out. That meant I was one step ahead of him on a few things so I managed to get my money quicker than if I'd not had some inside knowledge. I was then contacted by 2 of the other reviewers about 2-3 months ago telling me BBC rogue traders were on his case. So I spoke to them and told them my case. Sounds like they were fully tooled up with evidence anyway they just wanted a few more stories to validate it.

OP, did you get your car/money back?
Yes, took about 5 months. He'd sold the car at least 3 months before as when I phoned the DVLA They told me they had sent me a letter with a road tax rebate which would have triggered alarm bells with me but my car was registered at my old address so I never got that letter!

Why didn't the Post Office forward your mail?

You did have mail forwarding set up - didn't you?
Yes for 3 months after we moved and the one thing we forgot to update was the registered address for the car...typical.
