At the end of a flight in the USA I was invited to 'deplane'. Americans are very good at making up new words as they go along.

Does this mean that the OP's wife was doing way more than the usual 3 points/£100 threshold?
Usually it is 2 weeks unless going to court is it not?

On closer reading, she was doing 36 in a 30; used to be a 40 limit but reduced by the villagers as bikers often blast through close to 100mph at various times - which they they still do now it's a 30...

Seems she's best phoning them to see if she can do an awareness course? (No points on licence at no.)

Keepered - I hate made up words (podiumed??) but on iPad it's a PITA having to type the extra chars of reg.... keeper.

Thanks for all your comments.

=> Updated Saturday am; it wqas 36 in a 30; my mistake, and sorry for the confusion. (Easy to make errors and hard to correct when using iPads/touch-screens...)

1. It's not a 40 limit its a 30 limit
2. Villagers don't arbitrarily get to change the speed limit
3. Bikers often blast through close to 100mph. Of course they do. Making it a 30 will completely change that won't it.
4. You don't get to ask for an SAC they will offer it if appropriate. She's well within the speed for that to be offered.

Missed the bit about 28th August (as you do).

No chance of a course as it all has to be done and dusted within 4(?) months.

Drivers details must be sent back (as late as possible) within the 14 days.

Keep fingers crossed a COFP is sent, as this must have an end date after 28th Feb, in which case it cannot proceed to court and does not need paying.

Seeing as we're still in January I'd rethink that wink
I timed one out. I missed the first NIP so they sent me a second? Why? We played ping pong with a letter a month and finally I thanked them for their efforts and wished them good by.

1. Yes agreed above; my typo and apologies for the confusion.
2. They ran a campaign, and the local authority changed it to a 30, despite the fact there's good visibility, few houses (on the main road) and stretches with fields on both sides. We have a trend in our region: an accident, even though excessive speed is not involved, often leads to lowering of limits.
3. Actually, some drivers exceed the limit excessively, too - highly dangerous. I agree that the 30 limit has made no difference to those who are determined to ignore the limit and drive at 2x and more the posted speed. Normally, this is done 'out-of-hours' and so these idiots are rarely caught.
