What's that definition of stupid? Doing the same thing and expecting a different outcome?

Should've had a surface to surface missile system as well. Then there wouldn't have been any video evidence left !!!

On what grounds have they banned him from driving? is PCOJ now punishable with a driving ban? or has he been convicted of something under the road traffic act?
It is permissible for courts to disqualify someone from driving for non motoring offences:
(Don't ask me what section of law this is in because I don't know)

Magistrates Guidelines said:
The court may disqualify any person convicted of an offence from driving for such period as it thinks fit.
This may be instead of or in addition to dealing with the offender in any other way.

The section does not require the offence to be connected to the use of a vehicle.
However, the Court of Appeal has held that the power cannot be exercised arbitrarily and there must be sufficient reason for the disqualification.
You do know he was speeding don't you?

The thing is, if a cop's laser gun jams and he subsequently pulls the car over, they are going to find the device if they really want to I would have thought. Couldn't they try it again whilst the car is stationary to confirm the error reading and then impound the car etc?

Needs to sue the judge for compensation and have the judge done for criminal damage.

Having previously been issued with a caution for a similar offence, Mr Stephenson chose to ignore that warning and believed he could cheat the laws that are made to protect road users.
The laws that are made to what?

Your average plod really does have a warped sense of reality and self importance.

I lost count the other night, but it was something like eight traffic cars that overtook me in the dark in roadworks and beyond, over several miles, some with blue lights, some without.

I am very much against the NSL and drive well in excess where it's safe to do so, but I wouldn't dream of attaining the 100+ they were doing in those traffic conditions. One of them very nearly clipped a Transit in lane two.

I expect our resident plods will justify this with the blue lights and siren make us conspicuous argument. Well, actually no, judging by the number of blockheads I see driving, completely oblivious to the big ambulances up their arses.

Driving with a missing or invalid plate is, what, a £60 fine? And beats all known camera/radar/laser systems....
Might work the 1st time, but im sure the next time you get caught, you'll end up in the same boat, with large fines and a ban.

your best bet is to steal a car and speed, as repete offenders seem to get £200 fines several times before even a sniff of jail time!

The police can arrest you for whatever they want and the courts can do as they please.

Nobody judges the judges.

99. 9 % of complaints aobut ES driveing are dunning kruger syndrome writ large

' why were they claiming exemptions without using warnning devices '

' why did an ES vehicle only use warning devices to negotiate a particular hazard or when claiming a particular exemption '

' ES drivers are crap becasue they use their indicators in line with the law and best practice rather than haphazardly '

' I saw a basic driver do something that loads of ordinary drivers do every day , therefore all ES drivers are crap'

Then there's the retired advanced police instructor, who lives near his old traffic HQ, who told me police driving standards are significantly lower today than they were in his day.

PS...I didn't say some of your colleagues, because that should be taken as read.

out of date practitioner in they don't use out of date techniques shocker ....

i think you'll find that in 99% of cases anyone who retired from a job more than couple of years ago finds the way they did things is now considered out of date or other factors are considered more important

Why did I know you were going to tackle it from that angle? "Progress" is always good, is it? I give you the disaster that was Brunstrom.
